| K-Life Sodium Free Water Softener Crystals |
| K-Life is potassium chloride, which is naturally occurring mineral and has been used for years as a sodium alternative. For those on a sodium-restricted diet, K-Life is a sodium-free alternative to traditional sodium-based water conditioning reagents. K-Life supplies potassium rather than sodium in the ion-exchange process which softens hard water. K-Life will work in any water softener as a salt alternative. | Solar Salt vs. Salt Pellets |

Both solar salt and pellets are available for your softening needs. Pellets are a food-grade salt that is compressed into pellets thus making them a purer, cleaner product. They leave little to no residue in your day tank. Solar salt softens the water as effectively as pellets and is a lower price alternative. It is not as clean as pellets and does require more frequent cleanings of your day tank due to the residue left behind. |

Do you have a high iron content in your water? The Cope Company Salt offers free iron testing to determine the level of iron present in you water. If iron is present, we will add Morton's Rust Raze™ to your system each time we deliver salt in order to deliver the highest quality of softened water to your facility. |

| Benefits of Soft Water |
|
The Softened Water Benefits Study has provided new research to ponder regarding the benefits of water softeners. First, the Battelle Study evaluated energy savings from water upon maintaining the efficiency of appliances as well as limiting impacts on fixtures. It was demonstrated that for gas storage tank water heaters up to 24-percent efficiency can be lost with hard-water usage. Moreover, the Detergent Savings Study investigated detergent reduction and further energy savings through decreasing wash temperature in laundry operations, and the possibility of using air drying in dishwashing. |
